About the QR Code Generator

This QR code generator lets you create custom QR codes in seconds for any link, plain text, Wi-Fi network or vCard contact — then download them as a crisp SVG or PNG. Add your own logo and colors to match a brand, pick the right error-correction level, and get a code that is ready to print or share. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no scan limit.

Everything runs entirely in your browser: the code is built on your device with JavaScript, so whatever you encode — a URL, a Wi-Fi password or a phone number — is never uploaded to a server. The QR codes are static, which means the data is baked directly into the pattern, so they are permanent and never expire as long as the destination they point to stays online.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about this tool.

Is this QR code generator free, and do the codes expire?

Yes, it is completely free with no sign-up, watermarks or scan limits. The codes it makes are static QR codes, which means the data (a link, text, Wi-Fi details, etc.) is encoded directly into the pattern. Because nothing is stored on a server, they never expire and work forever — the only way one stops working is if the link it points to goes offline or the printed image is damaged.

Can I add a logo and custom colors to my QR code?

Yes. You can change the foreground and background colors, pick a module and corner style, and drop a logo into the center for branded codes. Keep the logo to roughly 20% of the code or smaller, use a high error-correction level so it stays scannable, and stick to dark patterns on a light background — light-on-dark codes can fail on older scanners.

What size and error-correction level should I use?

For screens, any size works; for print, generate at high resolution (or use SVG) and aim for at least about 2 × 2 cm. Error correction has four levels — L (7%), M (15%), Q (25%) and H (30%) — that set how much damage a code can survive. Use M for clean digital use, Q for packaging and outdoor signs, and H whenever you add a logo, since the logo covers part of the code.

Is my data private, and does it work offline?

Yes to both. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser with JavaScript — your link, Wi-Fi password, contact card or any other text is never sent to a server or uploaded anywhere. Once the page has loaded you can even disconnect from the internet and keep generating codes.

Should I download a PNG or an SVG?

Use SVG when you plan to print — it is a vector format that scales to any size, from a business card to a billboard, with no blur or pixelation. Use PNG for digital uses like websites, email and social media, where a fixed-size image is all you need. Both downloads contain the exact same QR code.
