About the Image Converter
This free image converter switches pictures between the formats you actually need — PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, and anything to or from WebP. Drop in one image or a whole batch, pick the target format, and every file converts instantly with a live before/after size readout. Download files one by one or grab everything as a ZIP.
A quality slider controls the compression of JPG and WebP output, so you can trade a little sharpness for a much smaller file — handy for email attachments, forms with upload limits, or pages that refuse WebP files. Converting to PNG keeps the image lossless and preserves transparency.
Everything runs entirely in your browser: your photos are never uploaded to a server, conversions are instant, and the tool keeps working offline once loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most about this tool.
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Drop your PNG onto the tool, choose JPG as the target format and the converted file is ready immediately — click the download icon next to it. Since JPG has no transparency, any transparent areas are filled with white. Use the quality slider if you want a smaller file.
How do I convert WebP to JPG or PNG?
The same way: drop the .webp file and pick JPG or PNG. WebP is great for the web but still rejected by some apps, printers and upload forms, so converting it to JPG or PNG makes the picture universally accepted.
Will converting JPG to PNG improve its quality?
No — converting to PNG keeps exactly the pixels the JPG already has; detail lost to JPG compression cannot be recovered. PNG is still useful as a target when you need a lossless copy that survives further editing, or a format that supports transparency.
What does the quality slider do?
For JPG and WebP output it sets the compression level: higher quality means a sharper but heavier file, lower quality a lighter one with more compression artifacts. Around 80–90% is visually indistinguishable from the original for most photos. PNG is lossless, so the slider does not apply to it.
Is this image converter free and private?
Yes. It is completely free with no sign-up or limits, and the conversion happens locally in your browser with the canvas API — your images are never uploaded to any server, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded.
