About the Image Editor
This free image editor brings a real, app-like photo studio to your browser — crop, rotate, resize, retouch, draw, add text and stack layers, all on a full-screen canvas you can zoom and pan. Open any JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF and a floating tool dock gives you everything: precise brightness, contrast, saturation and warmth sliders, one-tap filter looks shown as live thumbnails, a freehand brush, editable text, shapes and arrows, stickers, and the ability to place one image on top of another and move, resize or rotate it with on-canvas handles.
Because everything runs entirely on your device with the HTML canvas, your pictures never leave your computer or phone — ideal for screenshots, ID photos, receipts, watermarks and personal images you would rather not upload. Reorder, hide, lock or blend layers, undo and redo any step, then export to PNG, JPG or WebP at the exact size you need, copy straight to the clipboard, or save an editable project file to finish later. It even keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we hear most about this tool.
How do I edit an image online for free?
Drop a photo onto the editor or click to browse — JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF all work. The image opens on a full-screen canvas you can zoom and pan. A floating tool dock gives you Select, Crop, Draw, Text, Shapes, Add image, Stickers, Adjust and Filters; each opens a panel with its options, while a pinned Layers panel sits on the right (a slide-in drawer on smaller screens) so your whole layer stack stays close at hand. Make your edits, undo or redo anything, then use Export to download as PNG, JPG or WebP or copy to the clipboard.
Can I add text, draw, and put one image on top of another?
Yes. The Text tool adds editable text layers with a choice of fonts, size, weight, colour and alignment. The Draw tool is a freehand brush with adjustable size, colour and opacity. Add image places another picture as a layer you can drag, resize and rotate with on-canvas handles — perfect for watermarks, logos, stickers or photo collages. Every element is its own layer, so you can reorder, hide, lock, change opacity and blend mode, or delete it at any time.
Is the image editor private — are my photos uploaded?
No. The whole editor runs in your browser using the HTML canvas, so your photos never leave your device and nothing is sent to a server. That makes it safe for screenshots, ID scans, receipts and personal pictures. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the internet and keep editing — there are no network calls involved. You can even save an editable project file and reopen it later, all locally.
Can I crop, resize, rotate and zoom?
Yes. The Crop tool gives an interactive crop box with rule-of-thirds guides and aspect-ratio presets (1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and more, plus Free). Rotate in 90° steps, flip, and straighten a tilted horizon. Zoom with the mouse wheel, pinch, or the zoom controls and pan by dragging — handy for precise work. The Export panel lets you set an exact output width and height with the aspect ratio locked, to resize for social media, a website or email.
What filters and adjustments are available?
Precise sliders for exposure, brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth, tint, hue, sharpening, blur, vignette, grayscale and sepia — all live. On top of those, the Filters panel offers one-tap looks (Vivid, Warm, Cool, Fade, Chrome, Mono, Noir, Sepia, Vintage, Film) shown as live thumbnails of your own photo, so you can see each effect before applying and fine-tune it afterwards.
